Gorgeous and Stylish .
Gorgeous and stylish wedding decorations are often the centre-piece of the wedding ceremony and reception, and can change the mood in any setting. Themed wedding decorations set the stage for your wedding theme, and can be used in many areas of your ceremony and reception locations. Common places to decorate for your wedding in an indoor and outdoor environment are:
At the Ceremony:
The Entrance or doorway (includes arches for outdoor gazebos and garden weddings)
Pews, chairs and Altars
Inside walls, or the first adjoining rooms from the entrance.
The area around the Guest Registry
Pathways and important wedding party vehicles
The Reception:
Outer door entrance
First entrance room
Tables – head table, food tables (buffet)
Walls
Wedding Cake (cake topper)
Ceilings
Since wedding ceremonies and receptions can pretty much happen anywhere that the couple choose, wedding decorations can apply based upon the theme you may choose. Decorating for your traditional wedding may mean beautiful pure white candles, fresh flower arrangements, embroidered cloth napkins. Planning to decorate for a fall wedding? This might mean pumpkins, preserves, ‘hanging harvests’, grape vines strewn with gold and red colored leaves. Mood and setting will really influence where and how you decorate. See the room in the ‘whole picture’ and think of the theme or feelings conveyed – do these match the same traits in the bride and groom?
Wedding Decoration Ideas
Made Easy
Always remember your timeline. Since the wedding party is usually the biggest part of the decorating (unless you are using a wedding planner /coordinator) they must have a set plan for placing wedding decorations and taking them down. Often (especially in the case of a formal wedding such as a church) the wedding decorations must go up shortly before the wedding and are taken down immediately after. Think about the following details which will help you complete your decoration:
Colors and wedding theme, time of day of the wedding ceremony, location of the event, temperament of the bride and groom, feasibility and cost of design of decorating (budget), space to decorate and the total number of people attending.
Hawaii has come to be an important destination for weddings. Hawaii weddings are generally held in scenic outdoor locations either on the beach or some such romantic lovely locations. Hawaii also provides the perfect ambiance for your honeymoon especially the islands o Kauai and Maui.
Hawaii weddings customs are very beautiful and add to the charm of your special day. The money dance is customary at Hawaii weddings. As per this custom the couple dance and then the guests make a monetary gift to the couple expressing their warm wishes and blessings to the couple.
The Hawaii custom of receiving or expressing congratulations on the occasion includes presenting then with a flower garland or with a lei. A lei is put on the head of the person or the person is welcomed with a kiss or honihoni as it is referred to here. A lei is considered very important as it represents love and should not be thrown away. People hang the lei in their home when it gets old then break the string and put it in the ocean waters.
Hawaiians would prefer to be addressed as uncles or aunties and using Mr or Mrs to address an old person is not appropriate here and may sound rude. Footwear is not taken inside the home. It is left outside before entering the home. Politeness and good behavior is looked at with admiration. Talking loudly is considered rude.
Hawaiians are known to be very simple fun loving and friendly people. The men generally dress up in slacks or the aloha shirt. While visiting a home they follow the custom of taking along a small gift as a token of their love or appreciation. They generally also help in cleaning up and do not just leave it to the person who is throwing the party.
The people here are very friendly and have strong family values and customs. They are very considerate about others and are very helpful. While on a trip abroad, it is good manners to take back some gifts (referred to as makana or omiyage) for your near and dear ones.
The people here are very simple and in fact are untouched by the commercialization that is taking place around them. They believe in human values and are very helpful by nature. They give a lot of importance to other fellow human beings. It is a society that is based on family values, traditions and customs and this is reflected in their day to day lives as well. The weddings here are conducted as per the prescribed customs and traditions. To add that Hawaiian touch, you could incorporate the Hawaii wedding customs in your wedding. The vibrant culture, customs and traditions would ensure that you have a great wedding.
Wedding Planning Made Easy
Top Ten Tips
Your wedding day is one of the most exciting days of your life, but for many it can also be the most daunting. Instinctively knowing everything that needs to be arranged, for something you have never done before, is a rather tall order. Therefore knowing where to start can be tricky. Most brides will immediately think of the ideal venue and dream wedding dress, but there are a few things that need to be considered prior to this. Having this information to hand will save you stress at a later date and ensure your wedding planning process runs smoothly, on time and very importantly to budget!
1. First things first, make a list of everyone you would like to invite to your special day (remembering to check with both of your families). Then revisit it and decide if it is an acceptable number to you all. It is worth bearing in mind that the larger the venue you need, the fewer options there will be available to you and naturally your budget will increase.
2. The wedding party. Decide who the best man, maid of honour, bridesmaids and ushers will be and ask them.
3. The budget. This can be a sensitive subject but it must be considered so that you can establish what your limits will be. If you are managing your wedding yourself, make a comprehensive list of every item that will cost you so you can work out what you want to prioritise. If you have a wedding planner, they will do this for you and make sure nothing is forgotten whilst helping you stay within budget!
4. Choosing the date. Things to consider: season and weather, bridal party availability, religious limitations, ideal honeymoon location, day of the week (weekdays are usually more cost effective).
5. Wedding insurance. This is something that many people do not consider and it is extremely important. The sooner you can get cover the better, as your policy can cover eventualities such as losing the wedding rings, damage to the bridal gown and venue double bookings. Find out exactly what your policy covers and try to get recommendations from friends.
6. Contact a wedding planner for either full management or for certain aspects or just consultancy to go through a detailed plan of action and provide advice. It is worth knowing that planners have many contacts and can usually negotiate better rates than if you go direct.
7. The service. Consider if it will be religious or civil and if you would like everything to be held in the same venue, or for example a church plus reception venue.
8. The venue. If you wish to have the ceremony and reception in one venue, find out if they have a wedding license. Things to consider: cost, capacities, number of rooms, space for dancing, late license if required, music license and time restrictions. For separate venues also consider distance between the two.
9. Suppliers. Work out if the venue will provide the suppliers – florists, caterers and decorations. Some will insist on using theirs, others will be more flexible. This is important if you have a local florist or caterer you wish to use. A wedding planner will also be able to advise if their suppliers are costly or not – you do not want to get a great venue rate only to find your suppliers cost an arm and a leg!
10. Time line. Most people spend on average one year planning a wedding. This is because of the planning involved and also to get venue availability – believe it or not, popular venues can be booked up well over a year in advance! Think about how long each item takes to organise and prioritise accordingly.
There are many elements to planning a wedding, but hopefully you will find these top tips useful to get you started. Working with a wedding planner will not only mean you have a professional to guide you and often negotiate better rates, but will also save you time and give you that much needed support. Good luck!
